Anooraq Resources Corporation, through its subsidiaries, engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of prospective mineral properties in the Republic of South Africa. Its principal properties include Platreef, Ga-Phasha, and Thusong projects in South Africa. The Platreef project is located 275 kilometres north northeast of Johannesburg, consisting of prospecting rights covering approximately 37, 492 hectares. The company holds interests in the Platreef platinum group metals properties that include Rietfontein 2KS, Drenthe 778LR, Witrivier 777LR, and Dortsland 768LR located on the Northern Limb of the Bushveld complex. The Ga-Phasha project is located on the Eastern Limb of the Bushveld Igneous complex, 250 kilometres northeast of Johannesburg. This project includes Paschaskraal, Klipfontein, De Kamp, and Avoca areas covering an area of approximately 9,700 hectares. The Thusong property is located 74 kilometres north of Rustenburg. This property consists of the Wachteenbietjieslaagte 4 JQ, Vogelstruiskraal 400 KQ, and Cyferkuil 1 JQ farms. The company has a joint venture with Rustenburg Platinum Mines Limited to explore and develop platinum group metals, gold, and nickel mineralization on the Thusong property; and with Potgietersrust Platinums, Ltd. to explore and develop platinum group metals, gold, and nickel mineralization on the Drenthe 778LR and Witrivier 777LR farms, and a portion of Overysel 815LR farm. Anooraq was incorporated in 1983 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
