The company has options to acquire 100% interests in Incahuasi property, which consists of seven minas, two cateos, and one tailing concession located in Catamarca Province, Argentina; and various properties, including Salar de Oro property comprising five continuous cateos and six minas, Il Torno property consisting of four minas, 5A3/5A4 property comprising two minas and two cateos, and Rinconada property consisting of three minas and one cateo, which are located in the Jujuy Province, Argentina. Its other properties comprise El Carmen, Oros Mayo, 5C2/5C3, 5C1 South, El Toro East/5C5, and El Toro, which are located in the Jujuy Province, Argentina. The company also has option to acquire a 75% interest in Bocana property comprising two mining concessions in Peru; and a 60% interest in two additional properties in Alaska. Cardero Resource was founded in 1985 as Halley Resources, Ltd. and changed its name to Rugby Resources Limited in 1991. Further, it changed its name to Euro-Ad Systems, Inc. in 1993; to Sun Devil Gold Corp. in 1997; and to Cardero Resource Corp. in 1999. The company is based in Vancouver, Canada.
