Dynatec Corporation provides mining and metallurgical services to various mining companies. The company operates in two divisions, Mining Services and Metallurgical Services. The Mining Services division engages in contract mining, mine shaft sinking, lateral mine development, mine construction, civil underground construction, raise boring, and Alimak raising. The Metallurgical Services division assists the mining and refining project owners in the evaluation, design, construction, implementation, and operation of proprietary processes for the treatment of metal-bearing material. This division also performs metallurgical test work, provides process development engineering services and technical assistance to ongoing operations, conducts feasibility studies, and supplies package plants for the recovery of metals. As of December 31, 2005, Dynatec had 75% interest in the Ambatovy nickel Project located in Madagascar, as well as working interests in Coal-Bed Methane Project located in Wetzel County, West Virginia. As of the above date, it also had 24.6% interest in FNX Mining Company, Inc. that involved in the mining, development, and exploration of nickel, copper, and precious metal properties in the Sudbury, Ontario mining district. The company provides mining services in the United States, Canada, Venezuela, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Honduras, Mexico, and Turkey. Dynatec was founded in 1980. It was formerly known as Sherritt International Consultants, Inc. and changed its name to Dynatec Corporation in 1997. The company is headquartered in Richmond Hill, Canada.
