HudBay Minerals,Inc. operates as a base metals mining and smelting company. It primarily produces zinc metal, copper metal, and zinc oxide, as well as gold, silver, and lead. The company owns 777 and Trout Lake zinc and copper mines near Flin Flon, Manitoba; the Chisel North Zinc Mine near Snow Lake, Manitoba; Konuto Lake mine in Saskatchewan; and the Balmat mine project in New York State. It also owns metallurgical complex located in Flin Flon, Manitoba and at home; and an ore concentrator near Snow Lake, Manitoba. In addition, HudBay operates a zinc oxide plant located in Brampton, Ontario; and a copper refinery in White Pine, Michigan. The company was founded in 1929. It was formerly known as ONTZINC Corporation and changed its name to HudBay Minerals, Inc. in 2004. HudBay is based in Winnipeg, Canada.
