Minefinders Corporation, Ltd. engages in the exploration and development of precious and base metal mineral properties primarily in Mexico and the United States. Its principal properties include the Dolores Property; and the Northern Sonora Properties that include the La Bolsa deposit, the Real Viejo silver prospect, and the Planchas de Plata prospect. The company also has interests in various secondary properties, including the Gutsy/Buckskin Mountain properties, the Clear property, and the Dottie Property in Nevada; and the Oro Blanco Property in Arizona. As of December 31, 2005, it had total proven and probable ore reserves at an average grade of 0.84 g/t gold and 44.5 g/t silver for an estimated production of 72.5 million tonnes. The company was founded as Twentieth Century Explorations, Inc. in 1975 and changed its name to Minefinders Corporation, Ltd. in 1979. Minefinders Corporation is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
